Stimulates digestion and reduces gastric inflammation

Feature summary

Betaine hydrochloride, derived from beets, increases stomach acid to enhance digestion. This is especially important for older people, particularly those over 60, who may not produce enough stomach acid to properly digest food and nutrients. HCL makes the stomach produce more acid and also stimulates the secretion of pancreatic enzymes, further aiding digestion.

Not only does insufficient stomach acid interfere with digestion, a low level of stomach acid can increase the potential and severity of certain bacterial and parasitic intestinal infections. The low pH created by HCL destroys microorganisms that enter the gastrointestinal tract.

Nutritionally oriented health care practitioners note that people with chronic health problems such as gallstones, allergies, and asthma, often do not produce enough stomach acid.

Fenugreek: stimulates digestion, reduces gastric inflammation, and lowers cholesterol.
